About Logistics Services in Central America.

Logistics Services in Central America

The demand for third-party logistics services in Central America has grown significantly over the past two decades.  Total exports from Central America to the world in 2017 were valued at US $43 billion, while its imports totaled almost US $90 billion for the same year.

An increase in regional trade and commerce can be largely attributed to the signing of treaties such as the Dominican Republic – Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR).  In addition to the Dominican Republic, other parties to the accord include Costa RicaEl SalvadorGuatemalaHonduras, Nicaragua, and the United States.

Central American trade has been further augmented through the implementation of a separate free trade agreement that was signed by the US and Panama.  This accord has been in place since 2012.

In addition to the free trade agreement between the countries of the isthmus and the United States, Central America has a trade treaty in place with the EU.  The European Union – Central American Association Agreement was signed on June 29, 2012.

In light of this increased import-export activity in the region, The Central American Group stands ready to provide logistics services in Central America to new and existing customers.
