The technology company stated that it had agreed with the government to implement Google Cloud in El Salvador.
At the end of August, the technology company Google Cloud announced through a statement that it reached an agreement with the Salvadoran Government to open an office in the country so that it becomes “a technology center in Central America.”

“Throughout this 7-year strategic partnership, pending legislative approval, Google Cloud and the government of El Salvador will work together to put cloud technologies at the center of the country’s modernization effort,” he added.
To do this, Google Cloud in El Salvador will work on digital government, digitizing processes, and projects, including electronic invoices. Additionally, the Government will use Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), a hardware and software solutions portfolio.
They will also work on incorporating Google Cloud AI technologies into healthcare and implement a unified Education Data Platform.
“Google Cloud in El Salvador hopes to work hand in hand with the Salvadoran government to promote technological development in Central America,” said Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian in the letter. Likewise, President Nayib Bukele noted in the statement that: “This innovative alliance with Google Cloud opens unprecedented avenues for innovation, economic growth, and the improvement of public services.”
