The company has chosen to make an investment in Costa Rica in The Green Park Free Zone in Coyol, Alajuela.
The multinational business organization the Burke Porter Group, through its affiliate NACS Inc., recently announced that it has chosen to make an investment in Costa Rica to expand its operations internationally. The company is dedicated to the provision of automation solutions for a range of industries.
NACS Inc. has established a facility in the Central American Group’s Green Park Free Zone, in Coyol, Alajuela. For years, the company has partnered with several medical device manufacturing facilities in Costa Rica. These relationships have motivated the company’s leadership to decide to invest in a local plant that would allow them to respond to the needs of their customers in a more rapid and personal manner.
As a result of this investment in Costa Rica, NACS Inc. will design and produce equipment that will enable their customers (especially those in the medical device sector) to automate transactional processes and concentrate their use of human talent on other, higher value-added tasks. The implementation of the solutions offered by NACS Inc. will also see applications beyond the medical device industry.
Investment in Costa Rica is a solid business strategy
The Ham Lake, Minnesota-based company has made an investment in Costa Rica of approximately US$1 million and has announced that it will soon hire its first group of employees. For Duayner Salas, Acting Minister of Foreign Trade, the new investment in Costa Rica reaffirms the belief that the country is a stable and attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and is advancing significantly in global value chains (or GVCs).
The official went on to further state that the: ” The NACS Inc. investment promotes Costa Rica’s insertion into the knowledge economy and helps the country to move towards the provision increasingly complex goods and services to international customers. These are two conditions that we seek to promote in Costa Rica’s national investment policy. In the broader context of currently reduced FDI flows, we welcome the arrival of NACS Inc. to our country and wish to thank our national industrial promotion agency, CINDE, for the great work that they did to convince NACS Inc. that Costa Rica was their best choice.”
Additionally, Robert Doty, director of operations of NACS Inc. Costa Rica, commented “We are excited to bring our brand to the country to continue to support our existing customers while expanding further into Costa Rica’s Life Sciences sector.” He went on to add that, “We look forward to creating highly-skilled, value-added jobs in Costa Rica by strengthening our operations here and now and in the coming years.”
NACS. Inc. will serve the Life Sciences sector
Jorge Sequeira Picado, CEO of CINDE, said: “According to The Economist Intelligence Unit, Latin American countries have a great opportunity during the next decade to take advantage of the nearshoring processes that will be carried out by American companies. In the particular case of investment in Costa Rica, we have proven over time to be a superior strategic partner for the relocation of supply chains.
In this regard, NACS has seen a viable business opportunity in Costa Rica in investing in a state-of-the-art production facility and manufacturing technology and equipment that will enable its customers to automate their processes. This will have a positive impact on production and delivery times for the more than 70 companies that are active in the Life Sciences sector in Costa Rica. These companies export their medical devices, for the most part, to the USA.”
The company will be hiring technical staff that is proficient in the English language and that has experience in the field of medical device manufacturing. Some of the positions to be filled include precision mechanics, control electricians, mechanical and control engineers, and administrative personnel.
