Economic diversification in Costa Rica is the key to its recovery
When Costa Rican journalist, Rocío Chacón, realized the impact that the pandemic would have on her country’s normally thriving tourism industry, she devised a strategy aimed at promoting local travel. The campaign was dubbed “Qué chiva ese lugar” (“This place is cool”). The purpose of this effort was to spread the word about tourism adventures in the country to the locals.
Manufacturing telecommuting in Costa Rica gets a boost from Covid-19
The application of teleworking as a mode of employment among non-production workers in Costa Rican factories was one of the issues analyzed in a recently written report entitled “Survey of Economic Perspectives and Valuation of Competitiveness Factors of the Industrial Manufacturing Sector, 2021.” The country’s Chamber of Industries prepared this document on manufacturing telecommuting in Costa Rica.
