Grupo Maritimo is the new Orient Overseas Container Line shipping agent in El Salvador

OOCL and the Central American Group member Grupo Maritimo are pleased to announce that the latter is Orient Overseas Container Line’s new shipping agent in El Salvador. 

In this capacity, Grupo Maritimo will be the designated party responsible for handling OOCL’s shipments and cargo, as well as will take on tasks such as the provision of essential supplies, the execution of crew transfers, the revision and submission of relevant customs documents, and the submission of waste declarations with port authorities. 

In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other functions that will be assumed by Grupo Maritimo on behalf of OOCL in El Salvador are:

• The procurement of berths for incoming ships.
• The arrangement of pilots and tugs when necessary.
• The scheduling of doctors to attend to crew members if needed.
• The reservation of storage bunkers for shipped goods.
• The submission of cargo claims with insurance

Orient Overseas Container Line expands its presence in Latin America

OOCL has recently launched its Mexico-Central America Express (MCX) service.  This is a new service offering links TLP1, TLP2, and TLP3 vessels at Manzanillo, Mexico for connection to Asia and Central America.  In El Salvador, the company will provide this service at the Port of Acajutla.
